Our statements about March 19 Resistance

On this page you can find our statements on the protests that started on March 19 with the detention of 106 people, including the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, and the flyers we distributed in the streets.

Plunder, pillage, exploitation, usurpation of will, despotism; total resistance against total attacks!

“On March 31, 2024, right after the local elections, which were completed less than a year ago, those elected said “we will balance the Palace Regime with the municipalities taken in local elections”; it was wrong, it is wrong. The Palace Regime did not come with elections, and it will not go with elections.”

“…The Palace Regime will go and the way to do this is resistance. The victory of these resistances passes through organization, through the United Labor Front.”

For a humane, honorable life; continue the resistance!

“These 6 days have shown us that the will of the people is not only the ballot box. It is even the least ballot box.

These 6 days have shown us that more is possible, for example, IBB’s previous corruption files could have been made public, all the thefts made with municipal resources could have been shared with those who took part in the resistance. And just as those of us in this square were asked to boycott EspressoLab, it could have been said that from now on we will “boycott tenders” for companies like 4.5G that feed the Palace’s coffers. These can still be done.”

Only One Question in Minds, What Will We Do Now?

“We do not have to wait for the call of a union or a party to go on strike.

It is enough for the millions filling the squares to decide on a general strike, to spread this idea in workplaces and to set a date. It is enough to fill the streets that we already fill in the evenings by coming out of our workplaces and schools and stopping life for a full day. If it’s not enough, one more day, if it’s not enough, one more day… One thing is certain, the general strike is the Palace’s nightmare and it will have to back down in the face of it.”
