March 2025 is marked by interesting developments.
At the end of February, on February 27, 2025, Öcalan called on the PKK to dissolve and the Kurdish movement to lay down arms. This was what the state wanted and Öcalan apparently “fulfilled” this request. The process had already hit the Palace press. For example, the worm Selvi wrote about it in advance.
How is it that worm journalists, who like to know so much in advance, see themselves as important beings? This is not the topic, but this is the question. Unfortunately, it is difficult to say that they are human beings, so we call them “entities”. It suits economics, because as assets they have purchasing and sale values. It is also appropriate for war planning, since any piece of equipment can be considered an “asset”. Just as a gun needs lubrication, so does a worm journalist. A little good work, a little popularity, but most importantly, money. The more disfigured the worm journalist becomes, the more acceptable he is. Abdülkadir Selvi is acceptable in the AS genre, so he gets a lot of information and he presents himself as “a worm with many sources of information”. Pity, he has limited resources to pay. Ahmet Hakan is a worm journalist who is supported by drawing an AH; for every penny given to him, his owner sighs “ah”. Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı, read ROK in this case, is a journalist worm who is always on duty to protect the “king”. Cem, on the other hand, is the smallest of them all and his duty is to seek a place for himself. For this, there is nothing too small for him. Anyway, this is not the point.
These worm journalists took Ekrem İmamoğlu’s diploma as a subject and wrote that the diploma would be canceled first on March 15 and then on March 18. These distinguished representatives of worm journalism are actually receiving news from the “independent judiciary”. How great! No worm has ever been treated like a journalist, and in no country have journalists ever seen such worms, such beings who covet their profession.
None of those whose diplomas were canceled with İmamoğlu faced the threat of having their diplomas taken away from them by canceling this procedure enacted 30 years ago. When İmamoğlu announced that he would be a candidate for the presidency and showed that he would not be intimidated like the other CHP candidates, Ekmeleddin, İnce and Kılıçdaroğlu, something they already knew occured to them.
In accordance with the lesson “one knows the matter from oneself,” those who knew that Erdoğan didn’t have a diploma immediately started to deal with İmamoğlu’s diploma when the new candidate turned out to be a bit tougher. And İmamoğlu’s diploma was canceled. Since the CHP loves the prayer “The Turkish state is a secular, democratic and social state of law,” that night they chose to discuss what measures they would take against this travesty of law. So, the law will resolve this! But İmamoğlu had declared that he no longer trusted the judiciary either.
In the meantime, one of the most striking developments is Atasagun’s messages, which are constantly broadcast as if he were Bahçeli. When Bahçeli was in good health, he would not send so many messages. But the messages became more frequent. The fight over the diploma escalated, Atasagun, pretending to be Bahçeli, said that all Kurds should lay down their arms. The diploma was canceled, and Atasagun, pretending to be Bahçeli, said, “The PKK should immediately convene a congress, convene it in Malazgirt, convene it on May 4th.” Bahçeli seems to want to see the PKK lay down arms while he is alive. But somehow it is funny. The PKK will convene a congress in Malazgirt, but will MHP cadres take care of its security? There seem to be many messages coming in the guise of Bahçeli.
İmamoğlu, whose diploma was cancelled on the evening of March 18, İmamoğlu, was detained on March 19.
While the CHP was struggling not to take to the streets, İmamoğlu did not forget to entrust himself to his “nation.”
The Palace is imposing the trustee policy in the whole country. This is a policy of war inside and outside. And the first way to not allow trustees is not to hand over the municipalities to the trustees. This is the most realistic response to the power, to the Palace, which wants to spread the trustee policy further. If a trustee is a usurpation, the occupation of municipalities against this usurpation is a right.
On March 19, Istanbul University students broke through the police barricade and then Özel said, “I am at Saraçhane, those who ask where can I go can come here.” He had to make a shy call, not as a political figure, but as a political figure who was “afraid to invite people to take to the streets.” Everyone had already started to take to the streets. On March 18, the CHP could not take to the streets, and on March 19 it could not hold its own masses. METU students actually showed the right address by saying “Evacuate the palace, we are coming,” but on the first day they could not break through the barricade. CHP deputies had to walk from the parliament to the CHP headquarters. I hope they didn’t get black water on their feet.
The spirit of resistance is in the students of Istanbul University breaking down the barricade, in the voice rising from METU, in the resistance in the factories, in the resistance of women.
So what is this all about?
It is the rulers’ crisis of governance. Don’t misunderstand, “they can’t rule with the old methods” does not mean that they can’t rule at all. The CHP, for example, very cunningly prevented the march from Saraçhane to the police headquarters. This is also part of governing. Lots of speeches, that’s all, and they do it out of necessity.
To understand this, one must first understand the Palace Regime correctly. The Palace Regime does not only consist of the AK Party and the MHP. The Palace Regime is an extraordinary organization of The State of the Republic of Turkey. Because they cannot govern in the ordinary way. There are three factors that unravel the The State of the Republic of Turkey. One is the Kurdish revolution. The second is the war between the imperialist powers. Now, the US has started to accept the defeat in Ukraine without much publicity. In this way it is preparing for new attacks. But with this war in Ukraine, it broke the will of the EU to a great extent. Now it is locking these imperialist rivals in a war against Russia and preparing itself for a war against China, Iran, etc. Thus, the West, the five main imperialist powers (the US, Germany, Britain, Japan and France), which gave the appearance of unity with the Ukrainian war, are forced to bring the war of division among themselves to the fore again. This will also have an impact on our country. The third factor that is unraveling The State of the Republic of Turkey is the resistance movement that started with Gezi, continued and is rising again today.
Now, the US, which had to accept the defeat of the Ukraine war without seeming to accept it, is preparing for more extensive wars with Trump, while the frozen war of division on the Western front is coming to the fore again.
Now, in the midst of all this, the Kurdish question is back on the agenda. What is being imposed on the Kurds are policies of slaughter, and it is under these conditions that the Kurds are back on the agenda. They are looking for ways to resist the slaughter.
And now, as the Palace is making move after move to prevent İmamoğlu’s presidential candidacy, those fighting on the line of resistance are taking to the streets again. It has become urgent for the sovereign, including the CHP, to prevent this anger, to deflect this anger in the direction of the struggle against the system. For this reason, İmamoğlu is forced to entrust himself not to the CHP but to the “nation.”
This means that the struggle against the Palace Regime is not and cannot be an election-indexed struggle.
At this point, the way of struggle of the working class, the line of resistance, the alternative of revolution and socialism comes to the fore once again. The CHP will not be able to keep its own mass outside this struggle. The more it tries, the smaller it will have to shrink. Workers and laborers must learn to distance themselves from the CHP.
The revolutionary path of the working class is the only way to overthrow the Palace Regime.
The working class, students, women, everyone who struggles and resists must unite under the banner of revolution and socialism. We know that this will take time. But no bourgeois party, no bourgeois ideology will be able to prevent the resistance and organization of the working class.
What the working class, everyone who resists, needs today is the United Labor Front.
The line is clear and unambiguous: it is the line of mass resistance. The solution is to destroy the Palace Regime with mass resistance led by the working class. In this respect, the fronts are becoming clear. What the Palace Regime, The State of the Republic of Turkey, calls “strengthening the internal front” is actually strengthening the Palace Regime. The internal front they want to strengthen is the front against the working class. Our side of the internal front is the working class, women, students, in short, all those who resist. Our duty is to develop, organize and weave this front, the front of the working class and laborers. The working class and all those who resist must rise up, and the way to do this is through resistance, expanding resistance, spreading resistance and organizing.
Conflicts between the rulers are temporary. Plans cannot be made based on this. And only when the working class emerges as a historical force on the political stage can real change, a real revolution begin in the country. Anyone who watches Kurds, workers, laborers, women and young people being thrown into prison and put through the batons will one day face the reality that their turn will come. This is what is happening today. Today, those who are trying to get the support of workers, laborers, women and young people, Kurds, never want the working class to march to power as a political force to fulfill its historical duty. Those who are afraid of the working class, the resistance and the streets are looking for ways to be loyal to the Palace and the state. Once again, they want to extinguish the developing resistance of the working class and the masses. The working class and revolutionaries should not consent to be a party to the conflicts within the ruling class. On the contrary, the working class and revolutionaries are responsible for weaving the independent path, the revolutionary path of the working class. When this is achieved, when the working class takes its place on the political scene with all its weight as a force with the United Labor Front, it will be seen that a socialist revolution alternative is an imminent demand for our country and region. A socialist revolution that will shake the entire region will also be the condition of real peace with its international spirit. Without destroying imperialism and their local collaborationist powers and rulers, real peace is not possible. Peace is only the reality of a world without classes and exploitation.
Yes, it is necessary to take to the streets and squares. There is more; as the students have shown, as the solidarity of Istanbul University has shown, there is also the need to tear down the barricades set up against us. Squares do not mean the CHP’s rally areas. Squares must be the areas where the platforms of those who resist are set up. The streets can be liberated in the hands of workers and laborers, women and youth. Justice does not come from the courthouses, it has not come from, and it will not come from. Courthouses are the Palace’s little nests. Expecting justice from there means surrendering to the system, the state, and cowering. Justice can be achieved with the power of the working class. The socialist government of the working class, where exploitation will end, is also the source of true justice.
In this chaos, in this dust and smoke, in this oppression and violence, the compass is the line of resistance of the working class and laborers. There is no salvation without taking this line of resistance as a basis, without expanding this line of resistance, without ensuring the revolutionary unity of the working class. Yes, “There is no liberation alone, either all together or none of us,” but under the revolutionary flag of the working class.
