Maybe we are in Saraçhane, maybe in Çağlayan, maybe in a square in a city. But we are together. We are in a place where we can see our strength, where we can draw strength from each other. We are in a place where we shout that we do not give up our rights and our lives and that we fight for them.
Hundreds of thousands of people on the streets illuminated the eyes that had lost their light, and the chants of “that enough” in the conversations with friends were transferred onto the barricades and crossed the roads. We claim our will. And not just the votes we cast. We, those who know how they don’t want to live, those whose futures are taken away, those who have no say, those who are constantly humiliated, claim our will by saying that this is no way to live.
Every day in the resistance shows us how we want to live. Workers, students, women, pensioners, peoples, we want a free and equal life together, that’s it. Plain and simple. The Palace Regime is against this demand.
The Palace Regime is rotten.
Their “justice” is in the palaces.
Their “freedom” is only for them to speak.
Their “laws” are written only for them.
Their corruption is known. In fact, Özgür Özel should share with all of us the corruption files that IBB gave to the prosecutors.
In the face of this decay, resistance creates its own justice, freedom and laws. With this power, we can claim our lives, squares and municipalities that they want to take away from us.
We who come side by side in a square of a city can only build the life we want by continuously and persistently standing together.
We claim our municipalities and our lives, we will not allow the appointment of trustees!
Their attacks are continuous. From the imposition of a life below the poverty line, the rewarding of the murderers of women, the plundering of nature, the slaughter of animals, the appointment of trustees to universities, the detention of journalists, the dismissal of the Istanbul Bar Association, their attacks are varied and continuous.
Every attack must find us, but it is not enough. We must own these institutions with the right, law and justice of resistance.
Those of us who come side by side in a square of a city, who learn how to live every day in the resistance, must also aspire to build this life.
We know and we see, it is not enough to elect, let us govern!
